We shared a wonderful moment today with our leaders, Ms. Kirchner and Dr. Bell who are both retiring this year. Students lined the halls with signs of gratitude and congratulations, as Ms. Kirchner and Dr. Bell made their way to our courtyard. We planted a tree and two rose bushes in honor of Ms. Kirchner and her late father, who was also an educator. We wish these ladies lots of luck and happiness in retirement. Thank you for your service to Mary Todd Elementary!

St. Patrick's Day

Ms. Highlander's second grade class celebrated St. Patrick's Day by making leprechaun traps. The students wrote a description of their trap with a plan for how to catch that mischievous, pesky leprechaun that has been "visiting" their classroom all week. The traps will be on display in the library for until next Friday. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

To help with a smooth and safe dismissal, please submit transportation changes to the front office no later than 2 p.m. each day. Changes can be submitted via written note, email (, or fax (859-381-3720). If your child is a walker or rides a bus and you would like to pick them up in the event of rain or snow, please do so at their bus stop or at their walker door, not in the front office. Last minute dismissal changes hold up the dismissal process, slow down buses, and delay students getting home on time. Thank you for your help in this matter!
