Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair will be returning to Mary Todd, April 12-19. That is the week we get back from Spring Break. The Fair will be open from 7:55-4:00 April 12-18, and open 7:55-12:00 on April 19. You can also shop online, April 7-20, at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/marytoddelementaryschool2. Any questions? Contact Mrs. Patrick at firstname.lastname@example.org. Happy reading!
St. Patrick's Day
Ms. Highlander's second grade class celebrated St. Patrick's Day by making leprechaun traps. The students wrote a description of their trap with a plan for how to catch that mischievous, pesky leprechaun that has been "visiting" their classroom all week. The traps will be on display in the library for until next Friday. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Plastic Caps for Benches
Mary Todd has some lovely new benches in our courtyard! You can help us cover the cost of these benches, without ever spending a penny! We are collecting plastic bottle caps and returning them to a recycling company. Please consider keeping and donating your plastic bottle caps. See the information below about acceptable donations. Contact Mr. Harman with any questions. Joe.Harman@fayette.kyschools.us

We will be holding a nearby screening for 3 and 4 year old children who may be eligible for preschool services. This is a free service for qualified children. If you are interested, please email Jennie Bottom at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (859)381-3512. Please pass this information along to other families you know that may benefit from this service! Thanks
Mary Todd Elementary would like to thank the brave men and women who protect our country. Mrs. Trivisonno planned a wonderful Veterans' Day Program for us. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate, including our parent and staff Veterans pictured below. We appreciate your service!
Picture Book Month
To celebrate Nation Picture Book Month, Mrs. Kirchner & Dr. Bell will be reading to students from bell to bell on Monday, November 7th. They will start at 8:00 a.m. with our Early Start students and won't stop until they have read to every single class at 3:00 p.m.!
Safety Patrol Officers
Special thanks to Officer Lorenzo Bueno for attending our awards ceremony and administering the oath to our new Safety Patrol Officers. They were officially installed on Friday, October 28th. Officers Dustin DeJesus and Trevon Hall were named Co-Captains. Congratulations to all of the new officers.
To help with a smooth and safe dismissal, please submit transportation changes to the front office no later than 2 p.m. each day. Changes can be submitted via written note, email (email@example.com), or fax (859-381-3720). If your child is a walker or rides a bus and you would like to pick them up in the event of rain or snow, please do so at their bus stop or at their walker door, not in the front office. Last minute dismissal changes hold up the dismissal process, slow down buses, and delay students getting home on time. Thank you for your help in this matter!
